  1. Does PortReflector work with AOL's Instant Messenger (AIM)?
At this time PortReflector does not work with AOL's Instant Messenger. We are looking into adding this capability to a future release of PortReflector.

  2. How do I configure multiple email accounts?
There is nothing special about which ports are used as the inbound ports into PortReflector. I can say this shorter with an example:

    POP1:
    In Outlook: 192.168.0.2 Port: 10110
In PortReflector: Inbound: 10110 Out: mail.earthlink.net Out Port: 110

    POP2:
    In Outlook: 192.168.0.2 Port: 20110
In PortReflector: Inbound: 20110 Out: mail.AnyWhereElse.com Out Port: 110

    POP3:
    In Outlook: 192.168.0.2 Port: 30110
In PortReflector: Inbound: 30110 Out: mail.Blah.com Out Port: 110

same type of thing for SMTP...

Actually, the use of keeping the ending as 110 is just a convention. For example each of those inbound ports could have been: 10001, 10002, 10003.

  3. Does FTP work?
FTP access was added in version 1.1.0. Both Passive and Port modes are supported.

  4. Why does reflection of port 21 fail?
Prior to version 1.2.0, ports less than 1024 could not be reflected.

Starting with version 1.2.0, you must go to preferences and turn on the option to allow reflection of ports less than 1024.

If you have this option on and are still getting failures, you should verify that the FTP server is not running, causing a conflict. You can check this at:
    System Preferences->Sharing->Allow FTP Access.

  5. Can I reflect web traffic (port 80)?
http traffic cannot be properly reflected at this time. While http traffic will be redirected, the client will most likely receive a 500 error. This will be addressed in a future release.
