SQLSpecialist
FAQ

- Why
can't I connect to my Sybase server?
SQLSpecialist does not distribute any
connectivity libraries. It connects only using
CTLib (ODBC is not supported) and expects your
Sybase libraries and SQL.INI file to be setup
correctly.
If you can't connect via ISQL then you won't be
able to connect from SQLSpecialist. In fact,
using ISQL as a test is the first step that you
should perform if you have any connectivy
issues.
- Why
doesn't Ctrl-Tab switch tabs as expected?
Ctrl-Tab is used to switch between each open
window. To switch between the Query tab and the
Results tab, use Alt-Q and Alt-R.
- Why
can't I edit the text in the Object Window?
At this time objects can only be viewed
through the interface. To edit an object, you
can use the generated text in your query window
and make modifications as necessary. Be sure
that you don't drop and re-create a table when
you are only intending to alter it.
Editing of objects through the GUI is slated for
a future release.
- Why
aren't C++ style comments supported as they were
in SQLQuery?
This feature has been removed in preference
of the single line comment defined by the SQL
standard. Instead of "//" just use "--"
- Why
does the About Box seem to lockup at
startup?
This is a feature of the registration
system. Every time you launch an unregistered
copy of SQLSpecialist, the startup screen will
show for 5 seconds to remind you that you are
using an unregistered copy. The startup screen
will not show at all when the product has been
registered.
